MY STORY – THE HONEST VERSION

The hard part isn't the job. It's everything before it.

Nobody prepares you for the small things. I learned German from zero while working, applying and failing, and every stage had its own lesson.

01

The supermarket

Fast checkouts, unwritten rules and questions you don't understand yet. Your first German "exam" happens at the till.

02

The bakery

Ordering in German, with a queue behind you. Small moments like this decide how fast your German grows.

03

The applications

Around 2,000 of them. Most ended in rejection. Each one taught me something about how German hiring really works.

04

The interview

Arriving on time, the handshake, the formal "Sie", and answering in German under pressure. I've been on both sides of that table.

WHAT I WISH SOMEONE HAD TOLD ME

Three lessons from 2,000 applications

Networking works differently here

Many Germans hesitate to speak English with you. Not because they can't, but because they're afraid of making mistakes. Switch to German, even imperfect German, and conversations open up.

Go to career fairs, in person

A face and a five-minute conversation do what a PDF can't. Career fairs are where an international CV becomes a real person.

Go for the jobs you actually want

It has an upside and a downside. Focus makes your applications sharper and more convincing, but it narrows your options and can take longer. I'll help you decide where that line is for you.

WHO I AM

Both sides of the hiring table

I'm Pranav, a mechanical engineer based in Aachen. I spent six years at Mercedes-Benz as a Lean Expert across seven countries and as a Production Manager in the body shop, where I hired and led teams. In 2017 I became the youngest certified Lean Expert at Mercedes-Benz.

I hold an MBA in Industrie 4.0 and Digitalisierung from RWTH Aachen and worked as a Technology and Innovation Scout at Saint-Gobain Research Germany. I've hired people, and I've been rejected many times myself. That's exactly what I help you with.
